With our lives getting ever busier, there has never been a better time to invest in a good quality program of daily exercise!

Walter Camp's Daily Dozen - A Daily Exercise Program

Daily Exercise for Busy People

Daily exercise is probably something you think you don’t have time for. Maybe you are already struggling to fit in that one weekly visit to the gym, and the thought of doing that daily depresses you (as well it might!). Daily exercise however does NOT need to be exercise to exhaustion. There are a series of exercises that have been around for nearly one hundred years that were designed for people like you. People that want quick, simple exercises that will make them feel better without putting them into full on sweat meltdown. You’ve probably even heard of this daily exercise program: the Daily Dozen.

Daily Exercise: Walter Camp’s Daily Dozen

Walter Camp’s Daily Dozen workout routine is a program of daily exercises devised nearly one hundred years ago to give you a ‘running jump-start to the serious work of the day!’ As an adviser to the United States military during World War One, Camp (along with many others) was shocked at the physical condition of the young men brought in for physical examination. He set about devising 12 simple exercises that would be:

Quick, simple, and of equal use to everyone, regardless of size, shape or current level of fitness.

Daily ‘setting up’ exercises such as the Daily Dozen are once more back in fashion and are of particular use to office workers, the house-bound, the unemployed and others who are looking to take the first step in eliminating a sedentary lifestyle. Updated and rewritten with a 21st Century audience in mind, Walter Camp’s Daily Dozen is certainly worth another look.

The aims of this exercise program are very different from the aims of a modern fitness book/manual – but in my opinion, different in a GOOD way!

  • Last no longer than 8 or 10 minutes once or twice per day.
  • Be simple to learn.
  • Eliminate exercises or movements that we perform daily anyway.
  • Be so simple to remember and complete that there becomes no excuse NOT to do them!
  • Make the exercises of equal use to EVERYBODY regardless of size, shape or level of fitness.
  • Not leave you so tired after doing them that you are too tired to do anything else!

My name is Richie Neville and I am not now, nor have I ever been, a professional athlete. I do not approach my fitness training as one who has ever had the external support of coaches, nutritionists, therapists and trainers. I am just a normal guy who wants to stay as fit as I can for as long as I can. None of the exercises I promote are 'insane' or 'x' rated. Join me at Internal Force Fitness to find out more.
